I had to make a mad dash to finish some pieces for a group show happening at Karen 19 Gallery this summer. The show is inspired by all things Spain due to the curator's love for the country. I've been pretty excited for a while but somehow deadlines always sneak up on us. I didn't have time to be overly creative so I used it as an opportunity to practice my portraiture of men, something I've been avoiding. I drew an homage to Joan Miró, Salvador Dali, Pablo Picasso, and Antoni Tàpies. Somehow I made all 4 in a weekend. I had to keep the color experimentation minimal due to time but in general I'm really preferring more muted and sublte color lately. I'll be able to share all the images more closer to the show. Below are my two favorites, Miró and Picasso. Thanks for looking.
